Job summary

LaBella Associates in Charlotte, NC seeks a Bridge Engineer to analyze, design, and detail local and State DOT bridge projects under the guidance of senior engineers. You will also prepare reports, perform field reconnaissance and inspections, and attend meetings as needed.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with a structural focus, 2–5 years of bridge experience, and a PE license. Familiarity with Rebar, concrete and steel design, and industry software is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural concentration from an ABET-accredited college.
• 2–5 years of experience in bridge projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with Charlotte DOT bridge projects and design software is a plus.
• Familiarity with reinforced concrete and steel design.

Job description

We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a Bridge Engineer position in our Charlotte, NC office.

Responsibilities

• Ability to analyze, design, and detail local, State DOT bridge projects under the supervision of Senior level engineers.
• Other responsibilities may include report preparation, field reconnaissance and inspection.
• Attend meetings and conferences when necessary/required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with concentration in structural engineering) from an ABET Accredited College.
• 2 to 5 years of experience
• PE License
• Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, SAP2000, Midas Civil, EnerCalc, and MathCAD is a plus.
• Experience with Charlotte DOT and Charlotte bridge projects and their design software is a plus.
• Familiarity with reinforced concrete and steel design
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word & Excel
• Desire to work in a team environment.
