Job description

Butler, Fairman and Seufert (BF&S) is currently seeking a full-time engineer with a background or interest in bridge design, bridge inspection, and transportation disciplines for our Indianapolis office. Project types include steel and concrete bridge design and rehabilitations, county-wide bridge inspections, and various transportation and structural projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist Project Managers with design and reports for bridge design and inspection projects.
2. Gain experience and assist in plan development.
3. Perform hydraulic modeling, quantity calculations, and develop cost estimates.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
2. 0-4 years of relevant work experience and passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or planning to pass within 6 months.
3. Proficiency in modeling software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, and familiarity with Excel and Word. Knowledge of bridge software like ConSpan, RC Pier, Merlin Dash, and HEC-RAS is a plus.
4. Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public.
