Job Description

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is a people-focused, award-winning, full-service consulting firm offering services in civil and geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, planning, landscape architecture, agriculture, surveying, and construction support. Our talented staff of over 650 professionals delivers integrated planning, design, engineering, and construction solutions.

Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for an experienced Bridge Engineer to assist with projects in Michigan.

Key Responsibilities

1. Understand bridge design, inspection, and retaining wall design.
2. Plan, develop, and complete related structural engineering tasks following MDOT practices.
3. Handle project assignments primarily in Michigan, with possible out-of-state projects.
4. Prepare bridge layouts, material calculations, and construction specifications.
5. Review drawings for quality and deficiencies.
6. Coordinate with engineering and technical staff.
7. Manage projects and coordinate with clients.

Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
2. 8+ years of experience in Bridge Engineering.
3. Michigan PE license or ability to obtain one by reciprocity.
4. Experience with MDOT and Michigan Local Agency projects.
5. AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design experience.
6. Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads; Civil 3D is a plus.
7. Experience with AASHTOWare (BrR & BrD), Merlin Dash, MathCAD, or similar software.
8. Ability to work independently and in teams.
9. Strong communication skills.

Additional Information

Candidate must be able to work a hybrid schedule from Michigan or Ohio offices, with at least 2 days in-office.
