Experienced Bridge Engineer

Our talented staff of more than 650+ professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions.

Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for an experienced Bridge Engineer to assist with our projects in Michigan!

Key Responsibilities
  • General understanding of bridge design, bridge inspection, and retaining wall design
  • Planning, development, and completion of other related structural engineering tasks will be required, conforming to standard MDOT practices.
  • Project assignments that will be primarily located in Michigan with additional out of state assignments possible
  • Preparing bridge layouts, material quantity calculations, and construction specs of all bridge types.
  • Checking on drawings from designers for quality / deficiencies.
  • Coordination with other engineering and technical staff.
  • Experience with project management including coordination with clients.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in Bridge Engineering
  • Must have Michigan PE license or ability to obtain by reciprocity
  • Experience with MDOT and/or MDOT LAP or Michigan Local Agency
  • AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design experience
  • MicroStation and OpenRoads experience required. Civil 3D is a plus!
  • AASHTOWare (BrR & BrD), Merlin Dash, MathCAD or other equivalent design and load rating software preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently and with others as a team member.
  • Communication skills are a must, as this will be in a teaming environment.
Candidate must be able to work a hybrid schedule out of one of our Michigan or Ohio offices. This will consist of at least 2 days in office.
