Job summary

The Bridge Drafting and Geo-Spatial Engineering Assistant role with the State of Alaska DOT&PF is based in Juneau and emphasizes drafting bridge designs, conducting inspections, and processing management data under licensed engineers.

You will prepare preliminary layouts and detailed final plans with AutoCAD, assist with drone and sonar data collection, and support inspections to keep Alaska’s infrastructure safe and reliable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of drafting concepts, modeling, blueprints, and maps for bridge projects.
• Experience supporting bridge inspections and data collection.
• Familiarity with geo-spatial data processing and GIS concepts.
• Understanding of safety and quality standards in civil/bridge work.

Responsibilities

• Draft preliminary bridge layouts and final plans using AutoCAD under licensed engineers.
• Assist with drone and sonar data collection for bridge assessment.
• Process and analyze bridge management data to support maintenance decisions.
• Collaborate with team on construction plans and inspection reporting.
