Job summary

The State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Bridge Section is seeking a Bridge Engineer to design and analyze bridges and related structures. Work with AASHTO LRFD and relevant seismic design guides, and help implement techniques for project delivery across Alaska.

This position is based in Juneau, with travel opportunities statewide. A PE or Architect license is required, with Alaska comity rules if licensed elsewhere.

Qualifications

• Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect.
• State of Alaska comity requirements if not registered in Alaska.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze bridges and transportation structures.
• Apply AASHTO LRFD and Bridge Design Specifications.
• Develop and apply bridge engineering techniques and procedures.
• Perform intermittent statewide bridge inspections for safety.
