Job summary

HDR is seeking a Bridge Designer/EIT to contribute to highway and railway structures in the Philadelphia area. You will apply structural techniques, perform load calculations, and develop geometric layouts using industry software.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Structural engineering degree and may pursue the EIT. Experience with multiple engineering packages and a collaborative mindset are valued. HDR supports professional growth within an employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Familiarity with engineering software packages such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.

Responsibilities

• Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in bridge designs.
• Work on projects including bridge types and interchange design for highways and railways.
• Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures and develop structural details with specialized software.
• Participate in bridge inspection and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Perform other duties as needed.
