Job summary

HDR is seeking a Bridge Designer/EIT in Pennsylvania to apply structural engineering and detailing techniques for highway and railway bridge projects, perform load calculations, and develop geometric layouts and quantities using software such as LEAP, MIDAS, SAP2000, and AutoCAD.

You will collaborate within an employee-owned culture, contribute to inspections and design updates, and pursue career progression toward licensure, with support for EIT certification and ongoing professional

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural engineering or related field.
Familiarity with engineering software packages such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.
Bentley OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3D.
Strong understanding and hands-on use of computers for structural layout and design.
Good communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in bridge designs.
Work on projects including bridge and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
Select standard bridge engineering procedures and develop structural details using software.
Participate in bridge inspection and assist with load calculations and layout development.
Perform other duties as needed.
