Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Bridge Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to lead design and plan development for bridge projects, and to perform structural analysis on highway, railroad, and bike/ped structures.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis, is EIT with the ability to obtain PE, and has 5–10 years of bridge/structural design experience; ADOT project experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis; M.S. a plus
• EIT required, ability to obtain PE
• 5–10 years' experience in the design of structures
• ADOT project experience is a plus
• Strong technical skills in bridge/structural design and analysis
• Knowledge of roadway drafting and design software such as Bentley MicroStation, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
• Ability to design and produce PS&E in a team setting
• Detail-oriented, professional attitude, good communication, self-starter
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills, and a desire to learn

Responsibilities

• Lead design and plan development tasks for bridge projects
• Perform structural analysis and design of highway, railroad, and bike/ped structures
• Conduct bridge inspections and load ratings as required
• Provide management and technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team
