Job summary

Garver seeks a civil engineering student for a Transportation Intern - Bridge in Frisco, Texas. The intern will be mentored by the Bridge Team and gain exposure to bridge design, rehabilitation, and inspection across multiple projects.

The Garver Launch Program offers hands-on development, networking with professionals, wellness initiatives, and opportunities to engage in community volunteering while advancing technical skills in structural design.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
• Strong interest in structural design and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and teamwork are important.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design of steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Familiarize with AASHTO LRFD and other bridge design standards.
• Contribute to plans for bridge components (layouts, substructures, superstructures).
• Visit active bridge sites to connect plans with field realities.
• Read and interpret design codes and communicate effectively.
