Job summary

Garver’s Oklahoma City Bridge Team seeks a civil engineering internship student to explore bridge design, rehabilitation, replacement, and inspection on diverse projects. You will be mentored by a dynamic team and gain exposure to multiple design aspects using MicroStation.

You’ll participate in the Garver Launch program, which emphasizes wellness, networking, volunteering, and tailored training to support your development through hands‑on experiences.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Strong interest in structural design.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong team player with commitment to becoming a key member of a highly productive design team.

Responsibilities

• Design steel and reinforced concrete structures as part of the team.
• Familiarize with AASHTO LRFD and other design standards.
• Develop bridge layouts, substructure and superstructure plans in MicroStation.
• Visit active bridge construction sites to relate field conditions to plans.
• Read and interpret design codes and communicate findings clearly.
