Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Seattle seeks a Bridge Engineering Designer to join our Civil/Structural team. You will assist in design and analysis of bridges and heavy civil structures, perform inspections, and collaborate with senior engineers on a variety of projects from concept to construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with emphasis on structural engineering.
• 0–4 years of experience under a licensed professional engineer.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Desire to develop as a structural engineer and grow professionally.
• Master's degree and EIT/FE exam timing are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and analysis of bridges and heavy civil structures, including new construction and rehabilitation.
• Conduct structural analysis and prepare design sketches under supervision.
• Perform inspection and fieldwork to support data collection and documentation.
• Engage in technical discussions within the design team and collaborate with project managers.
• Participate in client meetings and site visits to gain project exposure.
• Gradually take part in project management tasks such as budgets and schedules.
