Job summary

KPFF Seattle’s Structural Team is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineering Designer to join real-world projects from day one. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a variety of building types and materials.

You will gain hands-on experience from licensed engineers, perform structural analysis and BIM coordination, and contribute to construction documents, while growing through KPFF’s Forefront mentorship program.

Qualifications

• An ABET accredited master's degree with an emphasis on structural engineering (MSCE/MSE)
• 0-4 years’ experience working under a licensed professional engineer
• Coursework and/or familiarity with reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry, and/or post‑tensioned concrete for primarily building structures

Responsibilities

• Gain hands‑on experience while learning directly from licensed structural engineers.
• Perform structural analysis and design of building components and systems using industry‑standard software under supervision.
• Contribute to the development of 3‑D BIM models and construction documents including communicating with project drafters, structural detailing, and multidisciplinary BIM coordination.
• Apply core engineering principles and advanced mathematical techniques to tackle real‑world challenges.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Build expertise in navigating building and material specific codes, , while aligning with KPFF’s and our clients’ standards and practices.
• Join client meetings and site visits to gain exposure to project development and stakeholder engagement.
• Participate in KPFF’s Forefront program, our commitment to mentorship, lifelong learning, and career development.
