KPFF Consulting Engineers in Seattle seeks a Bridge Engineering Designer to join our Civil/Structural team. You will collaborate on a broad range of bridge projects, from design through rehabilitation, under senior engineers’ guidance.

The role involves fieldwork, data collection, and participating in project meetings, with potential exposure to project management tasks and client interactions. A bachelor’s in civil eng with structural focus is required or pursuing MSCE/MSE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering.
• 0-4 years experience working under a licensed professional engineer.
• Desire to develop as a structural engineer and work in a team.
• MSCE/MSE and EIT/FE readiness are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of bridges and heavy civil structures.
• Conduct structural analysis and prepare design sketches under supervision.
• Perform inspection and fieldwork to support data collection.
• Participate in technical discussions within the design team.
• Apply engineering principles and advanced math to real-world challenges.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Attend client meetings and site visits to support project development.
• Progress toward project management tasks such as budgeting and scheduling.
