Job summary

Kimley-Horn’s Saint Paul, Minnesota office is seeking a Bridge Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Bridge Structures team. The role focuses on bridge design, with opportunities to support in-service bridge inspections, load rating analyses, and other structural evaluations across Minnesota.

Responsibilities include leading bridge design, developing drawings, and coordinating with clients and the design team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• Experience with AASHTOWare BrR for bridge load rating analyses.
• Completion of NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In Service Bridges training, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and OpenBridge; ability to produce drawings and details as needed.
• Familiarity with structural analysis software (STAAD, RAM, E-Tabs, MathCAD, TEDDS, ADAPT PT).
• Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve in a technical role on bridge design projects.
• Perform structural analysis, design, and planning on bridges and other transportation structures.
• Develop full sets of structural drawings and technical specifications without guidance.
• Lead and mentor Engineers-In-Training in structural engineering.
• Conduct bridge load ratings and in-service inspections as needed.
• Prepare project submittal packages and ensure quality control across projects.
• Support meetings with clients, contractors, and design team members.
• Identify project opportunities through networking with clients and stakeholders.
