Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a civil/structural engineer to design bridges, analyze data, and prepare construction documents in a consulting environment. The role requires a ABET-accredited degree and 2–6 years of bridge design experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from ABET accredited program with a concentration in structural engineering.
• 2–6 years of experience in bridge design or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with alternative studies.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to complete a task.
• Performs structural analysis and design computations.
• Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools.
• Assist with developing the project quantities for construction cost estimate.
• May perform CADD work in the development of construction plans, as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a concentration in structural engineering
