STV currently has an opening for a Bridge Engineer in the Transportation group in Boston, MA.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer who is an expert in the field, capable of developing solutions to critical issues. The individual will be responsible for designing new bridges, rehabilitating existing bridges, ensuring quality assurance, and mentoring entry-level staff. The work will include highway bridges, railroad bridges, and transportation facility structures in our Boston, MA office.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Design and analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation and transportation facilities.
2. Participation in Design Build Projects and pursuits.
3. Perform quality assurance on transportation projects.
4. Contract document production, including drawings and specifications.
5. Bridge load ratings.
6. Review of construction phase submittals.
7. Perform design calculations, develop plan details, quantity take-offs, and write specifications and technical reports.
8. Review analysis and design of bridges, including rehabilitation.
9. Mentor junior staff and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE License is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in bridge analysis, design, and rehabilitation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in specification writing, cost estimating, and manual/guideline development.

Compensation Range

$98,010.59 - $130,680.78
