Responsibilities

• Develop engineering design concepts for HVAC building systems on moderately complex projects
• Design mechanical or electrical building systems
• Perform calculations for heating/cooling loads and equipment sizing using standard engineering formulas
• Collaborate with the Lead Engineer on engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems, and analyze the performance of existing systems
• Assist in equipment selection through catalog research under engineer guidance
• Apply a working knowledge of relevant building codes; consult with engineers to ensure code compliance
• Contribute to the development and implementation of company design and production standards
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy and efficiency
• Follow specific technical instructions with attention to detail and follow-through
• Work collaboratively with team members, sharing ideas and suggesting process improvements
• Attend client meetings as needed to support project development and communication
• Conduct site visits as required to assess conditions and support design coordination

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC design within an MEP firm
• Proficiency in Revit for mechanical or electrical design applications
• Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical system design principles and concepts
• Familiarity with relevant building codes and industry standards
• Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work
