Job summary

Athletic Brewing Co. is seeking a versatile Facilities Technician I for our San Diego brewery. This role focuses on maintenance of mechanical equipment and building infrastructure, with emphasis on quality, safety, and compliance with food-grade standards.

You will work with a diverse team and external vendors, performing PMs, pump work, and calibrations, while ensuring clean, safe maintenance areas and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous facilities or mechanic experience required.
• CMMS experience a plus but not necessary.
• Manufacturing experience a plus but not necessary.
• Electrician experience a plus but not necessary.
• Plumbing experience a plus but not necessary.
• Sanitary welding experience a plus but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong technical understanding of brewing, packing, and support equipment.
• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly maintenance areas; ensure proper cleanup after work.
• Communicate effectively with team and supervisors.
• Respond to production questions and follow up with managers.
• Observe equipment to diagnose problems and discuss solutions with management.
• Complete 90% of assigned work orders and PMs in CMMS; document findings.
• Assist in pump rebuilds and calibrate wastewater pH probes.
• Independently complete PMs on packaging, brewing, and support equipment.
• Handle Facilities Apprentice duties when needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.
