Job summary

Alvarado Street Brewery is seeking a Production Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair building systems and production equipment. The role covers mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and facility upkeep to keep operations safe, efficient, and reliable.

You will work with the brewery team to minimize downtime, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and document work orders. A strong maintenance background and safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-4+ years in an industrial/manufacturing environment; brewery experience a plus.
• Experience or strong interest in electrical systems (wiring, motor control, VFDs).
• HVAC/chiller/utility maintenance experience.
• Welding and fabrication on stainless-steel / sanitary systems preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
• Strong communication across departments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Knowledge of safety policies (LOTO, confined space) and safety mindset.
• Ability to multitask, manage time, and stay organized.
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance of building systems (HVAC, chillers, utilities, parking lot, condensers, and offices).
• Conduct preventive maintenance and respond quickly to repairs to avoid downtime.
• Work closely with brewing operations to prioritize maintenance needs.
• Inspect the brewery, canning line, and exterior areas for issues and repairs.
• Diagnose faults and execute repairs to minimize production disruptions.
• Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and logs.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized service.
• Identify opportunities for process or energy efficiency improvements.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe workplace.
• Cross-train in production areas as needed.
