Job summary

The Boston Beer Company in Milton, Delaware, is hiring a Full Time Packaging Operator to keep the brewery packaging line running efficiently across rotating 1st and 2nd shifts: 6am–2pm or 2pm–10pm, with a 6-month rotation plan. Responsibilities include operating packing machinery, performing quality checks, maintaining sanitation, and accurately entering production data.

Candidates need at least 1 year of machine operation experience and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of machine operation in a production setting.
• Mechanical and/or electrical skills or experience.
• Experience with computer systems and automated equipment, able to log data accurately.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand long hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment and machinery safely and efficiently, including fillers, labelers, box makers, and packers.
• Perform quality checks and testing and complete required documentation.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment and packaging areas using designated cleaning tools and chemicals.
• Operate computer systems and automated equipment and enter required production data.
• Perform operational, cleaning, inspection, and minor lubrication tasks independently.
• Follow manufacturing best practices, including equipment center lining, visualization, and 6S, and recommend process improvements.
• Operate forklifts as required and use lean manufacturing methods to improve safety, quality, and line performance.
• Assist coworkers and other departments with training, equipment operation, and repair work as needed.
• Work in a production environment with loud noise, temperature extremes, production equipment, and forklift traffic while maintaining situational awareness.
• Work rotating shifts and overtime as needed, including days up to 12 hours, weekends, and holidays.
