Responsibilities

• Ensure strict adherence to biosecurity and safety protocols while promoting a safe, productive work environment.
• Supervise and support daily farm operations, including scheduling, training, and leading team members to achieve production goals.
• Oversee animal care and welfare, ensuring best practices in turkey husbandry and flock health management.
• Manage all aspects of egg production, artificial insemination, and hatchability to meet quality/efficiency targets.
• Monitor and control operating costs, facility maintenance, and equipment upkeep for optimal performance and appearance.
• Maintain accurate records/reports on flock performance, feed/water consumption, and team activities.
• Foster a positive team culture with strong communication and commitment to Cooper Farms values.

Cooper Farms is currently seeking a Breeder Farm Manager Trainee to join our team in Oakwood.

The primary goal of this position is to assist and oversee all daily activities of the farm to produce the highest quality, disease free turkey hatching eggs at the least possible cost while maintaining a safe and productive work area which promotes personal growth.

SHIFT HOURS

Schedule will vary dependent upon farm needs; at times evening/weekend work will be required.

STARTING HOURLY RATE

From $20.20/hr

ADDITIONAL PAY

Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)

Job Functions

• Ensure strict adherence to biosecurity and safety protocols, continuously seeking improvements to maintain a safe and productive work environment
• Supervise and support daily farm operations, including scheduling, training, and leading team members to achieve production goals
• Oversee animal care and welfare, ensuring all staff apply best practices in turkey husbandry and flock health management
• Manage all aspects of egg production, artificial insemination, and hatchability to meet or exceed company targets for quality and efficiency
• Monitor and control operational costs, facility maintenance, and equipment upkeep to ensure optimal performance and appearance
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to flock performance, feed and water consumption, and team member activities
• Foster a positive team culture by promoting strong communication, continuous learning, and the values of Cooper Farms

Requirements

• Supervisory background with a college degree in business or poultry science or equivalent experience preferred.
• Candidates must also be able to obtain a medical certificate and pass annual respirator fit testing while always maintaining facial hair to ensure proper respirator seal.
• Supervisory experience and strong leadership skills
• Organizational skills
• Safety awareness, and responsibility traits at all times.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
