Total Safety U.S. Inc. seeks an Equipment Technician to perform cleaning, calibration, and repair of fixed and portable gas monitoring systems and breathing air equipment.

You will assist in maintaining the breathable air loop system, inspect and test units, document work, and ensure safety compliance on site. The role requires hands-on repair skills, ability to read and complete paperwork, and strong teamwork. Training and safety certifications, including forklift certification, are valued.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Associates degree, technical or military training strongly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of electronic safety equipment and testing procedures.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed inspection and repair instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, clean, service, reassemble and test SCBA and other breathing air equipment according to approved procedures.
  • Assist in stocking, staging, and preparing customer orders and maintain orderly work areas.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance of breathing air regulators and reducers.
  • Complete documentation and data entry for inspections and repairs and obtain customer signatures for invoicing.
  • Conduct visual inspections and functional tests, report deficiencies, and quote repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure permits are reviewed, correct mistakes, and coordinate with emergency contacts when needed.
  • Verify PPE and site safety requirements before starting work and maintain communication with crew.
