Job summary

Qualifications

Knowledge of breastfeeding and lactation concepts.
Ability to organize thoughts and present information clearly.
Ability to document and keep accurate records.
Ability to enter data quickly and accurately into FL‑WiSE.
Proficiency with Outlook, e‑mail, Word; familiarity with People First and FL‑WiSE.
Ability to establish productive working relationships and provide customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Competence with general office technology (printer/scanner).
Ability to type proficiently and understand regulations.
Willingness to travel to WIC sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Promote breastfeeding, provide support, and counsel WIC mothers via in‑person, groups, or calls.
Deliver required nutrition education to high‑risk clients.
Document contacts and appointments in FL‑WiSE by end of clinic day.
Advise staff on breastfeeding practices; manage pump loan program and inventory.
Train and mentor Peer Counselors; conduct monthly meetings and observations.
Support WIC staff with breastfeeding promotion and data sharing.
Develop annual breastfeeding goals and plan for DOH‑Lake WIC program.
Plan and conduct in‑service education and two‑hour annual trainings.
