Job summary

State of Florida's Department of Health seeks a Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor to lead WIC services in the Viera area. The role focuses on supervising staff, evaluating nutrition data, and delivering individualized nutrition education to clients.

The incumbent will promote breastfeeding, coordinate with lactation staff, and ensure policy compliance and staff development. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, active Florida licensure, and at least two years

Qualifications

• This position requires a bachelor’s degree in nutritional science, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, or dietetics.
• Must have current Florida Dietitian or Nutritionist licensure in good standing.
• Must be willing to work before, during, and beyond normal hours during emergencies.
• This role requires daily in-office work in the state of Florida.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate employees; communicate, motivate, train, and assess staff performance.
• Plan and direct staff work and ensure proper coverage and timesheet accuracy.
• Ensure WIC clinic operations run smoothly and policies are followed.
• Evaluate clinical, anthropometrics, and nutrition data for WIC eligibility and provide counseling.
• Educate and promote breastfeeding; refer to lactation staff as needed.
• Provide client referrals to community resources.
• Maintain licensure and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
