Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator to support pregnant and postpartum families. You will provide basic information, encouragement, and referrals within the WIC program and coordinate activities across CCWP.

This role requires compassion, strong communication, and the ability to work at multiple WIC offices in Cuyahoga County. Shifts are predominantly 9am-4pm, with occasional alternate hours and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• Personal experience breastfeeding or providing own breast milk to at least one baby.
• Familiar with WIC and able to relate to the target population.
• Ability to make outgoing and incoming calls beyond assigned shifts as needed.
• Ability to work at any WIC office in Cuyahoga County.
• Excellent English communication, oral and written.
• Availability outside usual clinic hours or WIC environment.
• Access to reliable transportation. Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
• Enthusiasm about breastfeeding.
• Ability to interact with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic information, encouragement, and support for breastfeeding to pregnant and postpartum women and families.
• Make referrals per Ohio and local WIC policies.
• Assist with breastfeeding activities of the CCWP.
