Job summary

CDPH - Cobb and Douglas Public Health seeks a part-time WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor to support mothers and families in the Cobb County community. The role includes maintaining caseloads, providing education, and assisting with breastfeeding classes and support groups.

Under supervision, you will log breast pumps, attend staff meetings, and promote infant health while meeting Loving Support and WIC guidelines. Hours up to 29 per week with no benefits, based in Marietta, GA.

Qualifications

• Must be a current or former WIC participant who has breastfed a minimum of six months
• Enthusiastic about breastfeeding and supporting moms
• Available to work up to 29 hours per week
• Reliable transportation
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Receives and maintains a caseload of WIC mothers
• 2-3 participants per hour worked
• Provides basic breastfeeding information and support to new mothers
• Breastfeeding Benefits, Breastfeeding Common Barriers…
• Assists with WIC clinic prenatal, breastfeeding classes and support groups
