Job summary

La Quinta Inn & Suites Newport is seeking a part-time breakfast attendant with excellent people skills to provide guests with a memorable dining experience. You will set up and breakdown the breakfast buffet each morning and ensure items are well stocked, while carrying coffee pots and beverages as needed.

The ideal candidate has customer service experience, strong communication and time-management skills, and a high school diploma or GED. Prior food service experience is preferred.

Job description

We're looking for a part-time breakfast attendant with excellent people skills who is motivated and attentive to provide our guests with a memorable dining experience. You will be in charge of setting up and breaking down the breakfast buffet each morning while ensuring that all items are well stocked. Additional responsibilities include carrying coffee pots and beverages throughout the room, refilling foods, beverages, etc., as needed or requested, and removing used dishes and utensils. Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about customer service and has experience working in the food service role.

Responsibilities

• Make sure that the breakfast buffet is fully set up each morning and that fresh items are always offered throughout service hours
• Disinfect and clean service lines, beverage dispensers, and other equipment following health and safety procedures
• Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
• Remove plates and dishes from tables throughout the breakfast service using appropriate techniques for removing plates, glasses, and silverware promptly
• Maintain the breakfast area by cleaning tables, chairs, and buffet counter, and empty trash as needed

Qualifications

• Proven customer service experience with a strong guest-focused mentality
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with guests and coworkers
• Possesses strong organizational and time management skills
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent certification (GED)
• We prefer some experience working in the food service industry

Compensation: $17 - $17.50 hourly
