Job summary

Route 66 Pub and Grill, located inside the Holiday Inn, is seeking a server for 2–3 days per week with a 5:30am–10:00am shift. You will greet guests, take orders, and provide a high level of service to ensure a memorable dining experience.

Responsibilities include monitoring guest needs, handling payments, and coordinating with staff to maintain clean, welcoming areas. Prioritize safety and responsible alcohol service while delivering friendly, efficient service.

Qualifications

Job description

Route 66 Pub and Grill located inside of Holiday Inn is currently looking for a sever 2-3 days per week 5:30am-10:am. There is an opportunity for more hours/days as business picks up.
Must love customer service, be able to talk with the guests, and provide a great experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome all guests and take beverage and food orders promptly and professionally.
• Be attentive to guests’ needs.
• Monitor guest behavior and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests; check identification whenever the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable.
• Clear and clean tables promptly and efficiently.
• Clean and/or wipe down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors as necessary.
• Perform department/outlet opening or closing duties as required.
• Ensure that wait staff stations are clean and maintained throughout the shift.
• Take action to solve guest problems/complaints and use established guidelines for any service recovery to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Work as a team and communicate and coordinate with other departments to ensure excellent quality and service.
• May receive guest payments and process transactions as outlined in the cash and charge procedures as needed.
• May assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Basic reading and writing.
• Foodservice experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations preferred.
• Must be at the minimum age to serve alcohol in line with any local legislative requirements.
• Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds / 23 kilograms.
• Moving about the restaurant.
• Handling food objects; plates, trays, glasses, etc.
• Bending, stooping, kneeling.

• Communication skills are used frequently when interacting with guests, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors.
• Ability to comply with local laws regarding food handling or serving of alcohol.
• Reading and writing abilities are used often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
• Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit.
• Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
