Job summary

Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is seeking a Kitchen Associate to prepare breakfast and lunch offerings and assist with serving lines. You will participate in occasional catering and perform all kitchen duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to one-month related experience, training, or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide; compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Reasoning: apply commonsense to carry out tasks and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at proper temperatures.
• Prepare foods per menu plan and Opaa! recipes; plan and prep ahead for next day's menus.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders and other equipment with proper certification.
• Keep work areas neat, clean and organized; maintain FIFO; stock coolers and storage racks.
• Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, equipment and dishes; restock as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area and monitor chemical usage; manage dishes and return to serving areas.
• Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager; batch cook and present baked goods.
• Set up serving/bar lines; ensure proper serving sizes and utensils; provide quality presentation and hospitality.
• Handle customer monies and operate POS; submit hours and perform daily reconciliation.
