Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach is seeking a part-time Line Cook to support our hotel kitchen team. You will prepare menu items, follow recipes, and help ensure a smooth breakfast and dinner service across the line.

The role requires at least 5 years of Line Cook experience, ability to work all stations, and a team-oriented approach to delivering guest experiences that meet our standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Line Cook in a hotel/resort or restaurant.
• Ability to work all stations on the line.
• High work ethic and self-initiative.
• May require varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Team player focused on delivering great guest experiences.

• Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides.
• Direct, train, and monitor Line Cooks; maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Prepare and assign production and prep work for Line Cooks; review priorities.
• Communicate additions or changes to assignments during the shift.
• Set up work stations with mis en place, tools, equipment and supplies; breakdown work stations and close out duties.
• Inform the Sous Chef of supplies that need to be requisitioned for the day.

What you will be doing

• Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides.
• Directs, trains, and monitors performance of Line Cooks. Maintains organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Prepare and assign production and prep work for Line Cooks to complete; review priorities.
• Communicate additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift.
• Set up work station with required mis en place, tools, equipment and supplies. Breakdown work stations and complete closing duties at the end of last shift of the day.
• Inform the Sous Chef of any supplies that need to be requisitioned for the day's tasks.
• Starting pay $16 per hour
