Job summary

Portland Embassy Suites is seeking a part-time breakfast/guest service team member to prepare, present, and maintain our complimentary breakfast and evening reception. You’ll greet guests, keep service areas clean, and help ensure a smooth operation. No experience?

No problem—training is provided. Certifications in Food Safety and Alcohol Awareness are encouraged; you must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and have a flexible schedule to cover days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Customer service or restaurant experience preferred.
• Willingness to obtain Food Safety and Alcohol Awareness certifications within 60 days.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs during shift.
• Flexible availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present, and maintain breakfast and/or evening reception setup.
• Keep buffets, service areas, tables, and equipment clean and stocked.
• Greet guests and address questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Assist with light food prep, restocking, bussing, or supporting bar/service areas.
• Follow food safety standards and monitor storage and temperatures.

Job Description

What You Will Do:

• Set the stage for a great guest experience by preparing, presenting, and maintaining our complimentary breakfast and/or evening reception

• Keep everything clean, stocked, and guest-ready—buffets, service areas, tables, and equipment

• Greet guests with a friendly, helpful attitude and handle questions or concerns quickly and professionally

• Jump in where needed—whether that’s light food prep, restocking, bussing tables, or supporting bar/service areas

• Follow food safety and sanitation standards to ensure a safe, clean environment for guests and team members

• Monitor food quality, proper storage, and temperature standards throughout your shift

• Work as part of a team to keep service running smoothly and efficiently

• Communicate key updates during shift changes to keep everyone aligned

• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, and report any issues as needed

What We Are Looking For:

• No experience? No problem! If you have a great attitude and love teamwork, we’ll teach you the rest

• Restaurant, customer service, or cashier experience preferred

• Food Safety and Alcohol Awareness certifications (or willingness to obtain within 60 days)

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs during your shift
