Overview

The Breakfast Attendant provides exceptional, courteous service in the hotel’s breakfast area.

Pay Rate: $15.25

Responsibilities
  • Greet and seat guests promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
  • Ensure cleanliness and presentation of menus and service areas.
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables and hotel spaces as needed.
  • Restock and organize service areas; complete side work each shift.
  • Assist with guest requests and communicate VIP details to relevant departments.
  • Support food and beverage service, including dishwashing, restocking, cleaning, and floor maintenance.
  • Know service standards for room service orders.
  • Be familiar with menus and specials across departments.
  • Handle cashiering duties, including closing checks and shift paperwork.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures and side work as assigned.
  • Answer guest inquiries about hotel services, local attractions, and area activities.
  • Produce high-quality drinks, including specialty coffee, tea, cocktails, and other beverages as required.
Qualifications
  • Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in job performance.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred; hotel or related experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Legal age to serve alcohol and ability to pass responsible serving courses (e.g., TIPs).
  • Ability to obtain and provide a Food Handlers card as required.
  • Quick and accurate decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under stress and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Understanding of hotel products and guest services.
  • Effective communication skills with guests and team members.
  • Positive attitude and service-oriented mindset.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage standards, guest etiquette, and relations.
  • Basic math skills for operations.
  • Ability to read and write simple instructions and memos.
  • Patience, tact, diplomacy, and willingness to learn and support team members.
