Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a skilled Breaker Technician to join our team. The role focuses on repairing and testing low to high voltage switchgear, with most work conducted in our shop and some onsite travel.

You will troubleshoot, rebuild, and assemble breakers and related equipment, using Megger, multimeters, Hi-Pot testers, and oscilloscope, while maintaining safety and quality standards. Travel is required as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; electro-mechanical training preferred.
• Testing skills and understanding of electrical/mechanical testing procedures.
• Experience with an OEM breaker manufacturer is a plus.
• Knowledge of engines, pneumatics, hydraulics, or diesel equipment helpful.
• Knowledge of power systems and switchgear is preferred.
• Proficient in using Megger, multimeter, Hi-Pot tester, and other equipment.
• Experience reading schematics and wiring diagrams preferred.
• PEARL Certification or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on low and medium voltage circuit breakers from various brands.
• Troubleshoot, rebuild, retrofit, test, and repair switchgear.
• Teardown and assembly of breakers, contactors, and related gear.
• Occasional onsite support; travel as customer demand dictates.
