Job summary

P&S Transportation is seeking a Breakdown Coordinator to serve as the liaison between drivers, vendors, and the maintenance team. You will coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance while delivering outstanding customer service to drivers and internal stakeholders.

The role requires strong multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills, with flexibility to work daytime hours plus occasional after-hours support.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound calls and coordinate breakdown/maintenance needs.
• Coordinate with drivers, vendors, and maintenance staff.
• Create repair orders and monitor status in Fleetio.
• Negotiate pricing for tires, parts and services when needed.
• Ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance and proper documentation.
• Maintain clear communication across operations and risk teams.
• Review repair estimates and authorize approved work.
• Support after-hours breakdown responses as needed.
• Maintain vendor relationships and schedules.
• Assist in strategic planning within the maintenance dept.
