Job summary

Daikin Applied in Staunton, VA is hiring for a 2nd shift line assembler. Starting wage is $29.43 per hour ($27.13 + $2.30 shift diff) with a Mon–Fri, 1:50 pm–9:50 pm schedule in a climate-controlled facility.

You will read blueprints, assemble brazed components, follow safety rules, use measuring devices, and maintain quality records. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement, PTO/holidays, and a referral program.

Qualifications

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform Line Assembler duties as assigned and as needed to effectuate the completion of brazing and brazing duties at assigned work areas.
• Demonstrate the ability to adhere to and remain in compliance with all safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Successfully complete classroom and DOJO training (copper to copper brazing, copper to brass brazing, copper to steel brazing and know the five stages of flux).
• Read, understand, and work from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, applicable OMS documents, and other written, electronic, or verbal instruction.
• Work with materials to complete assigned tasks to meet production requirements.
• Operate tools and equipment to assemble, test, handle, manipulate, and move components, assemblies, and final product.
• Use measuring and testing devices as well as visual inspection to ensure the quality products and conformity to all prints, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Maintain required records including but not limited to quality checklists, input into specified electronic systems and reporting of all line issues into the appropriate data collection systems.
• Successful completion of required skills training (e.g. crane and tugger operation, fall protection, etc.).
• Preventative Maintenance daily on all braze equipment.
