Daikin Applied, Faribault, MN, is hiring a Material Handler for 1st or 2nd shift. Starting wage is $27.64-$29.50 per hour, with a $2.30 shift differential on the second shift. Work in a climate-controlled facility with strong growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

You will read work orders, move materials, perform cycle counts, and operate barcode scanners and power material-handling equipment. Requires ability to lift and use hand tools; must read/write English and have a High School

Qualifications

• Read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED or 2 years of related experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to lift, push, pull materials and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Reads work orders to ascertain materials or containers to move.
• Moves items into/out of storage, kitting area, and production areas.
• Follows safety rules and maintains 5S standards in the work area.
• Maintains inventory records and paperwork; performs cycle counts.
• Loads materials, seals containers, and helps with shipping/receiving.
• Operates barcode scanners, PIT, and material-handling equipment.
• Participates in safety and quality improvement teams.

Shift:1st Shift - 5:48am-4:18pm Monday-Thursday

2nd Shift: 4:48pm-3:18am Monday-Thursday

Your Responsibilities:

• Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions toascertainmaterials or containers to be moved.
• Movesitems into and out of storage, kitting area, and/or production areas.
• Follows all safety rules and instructions,maintain5S standards of work area and performs other functions on and off productionlineasrequired.
• Maintains necessary information and records for inventory locations on the computer and ensuresappropriate paperflow with the materials/goods throughout the process.
• Performs cycle counting functions.
• Selectscontainers for parts or products.
• Packs and seals parts, coils, or sections into or onto fabricated containers or skids.
• Loads materials into/onto trucks and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Completes shipping or receiving reports and records.
• Operates picking systems, barcode scanners, PIT, power material-handling equipment, and trucks to move material and finished products.
• Takespart in the training process for all new team members.
• Provides inputregardingthe performance of new team members.
• Participates with other team members on safety,processand quality improvement teams.
• Works with team members,supervisorsand support areas to coordinate workflow to meet production requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
