Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas is seeking an assembler for 2nd shift in Staunton, VA. The role focuses on line assembly duties, brazing operations, and strict PPE compliance to produce high-quality HVAC components.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, using tools, and performing quality checks while maintaining safety and efficiency on a climate-controlled production line.

Qualifications

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials and stand for most of the shift.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• HS diploma or GED or 2+ years of related manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform line assembler duties to complete brazing and related tasks at assigned work areas.
• Adhere to safety rules and PPE requirements at all times.
• Complete training in brazing processes and in handling copper, brass, and steel components.
• Read blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, and OMS documents as required.
• Assemble, test, and move components and final product per work instructions.
• Use measuring devices and visual checks to ensure quality and conformance to prints.

Starting Wage: $27.13 + $2.30 shift differential

Shift: 2nd shift, Monday - Friday, 1:50 pm - 9:50 pm

Your Responsibilities

• Perform Line Assembler duties as assigned and as needed to effectuate the completion of brazing and brazing duties at assigned work areas
• Demonstrate the ability to adhere to and remain in compliance with all safety rules and PPE requirements
• Successfully complete classroom and DOJO training (copper to copper brazing, copper to brass brazing, copper to steel brazing and know the five stages of flux)
• Read, understand, and work from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, applicable OMS documents, and other written, electronic, or verbal instruction
• Work with materials to complete assigned tasks to meet production requirements
• Operate tools and equipment to assemble, test, handle, manipulate, and move components, assemblies, and final product
• Use measuring and testing devices as well as visual inspection to ensure the quality products and conformity to all prints, work instructions, and quality standards
• Maintain required records including but not limited to quality checklists, input into specified electronic systems and reporting of all line issues into the appropriate data collection systems
• Successful completion of required skills training (e.g. crane and tugger operation, fall protection, etc.)
• Preventative Maintenance daily on all braze equipment

Your Qualifications

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time
• The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment
