Gannett / USA TODAY NETWORK is seeking a dynamic and passionate Brand Marketing Manager to join our innovative Brand Marketing + Creative Studio team. This pivotal role sits at the heart of our cross-functional teams, driving our brand strategy and spearheading initiatives that forge authentic connections with our audience.

As a Brand Marketing Manager, you will be a key player in shaping the future of our brands. You will be in charge of developing and executing groundbreaking brand, acquisition, and engagement campaigns that drive audience growth for our local news brands within the USA TODAY Network. Your expertise in brand strategy and management will be crucial in creating the next big breakthrough in brand campaigns and enhancing the consumer experience.

  • Strategic Impact: You will be responsible for building and driving the brand strategy for our campaigns, directly influencing audience growth and brand perception.
  • Creative Leadership: Lead the creative process from brief creation to in-market optimization, working with both local teams, the internal Creative Studio, and creative agencies, to bring your vision to life.
  • Collaborative Environment: Engage with cross-functional teams, including editorial, product, acquisition, and retention, to ensure our brand strategy is seamlessly integrated into all marketing efforts.
  • Innovative Projects: Drive end-to-end campaign orchestration, from establishing brand and media strategies to briefing creative teams and ensuring effective measurement and reporting.
  • Constant Variety: Work with newsrooms across the country on projects that touch different markets, audiences, and content types.
  • Brand Advocacy: Serve as our brand ambassador, sharing and teaching our brand story across the network.
  • Purposeful Work: Partner with local newsrooms to craft campaigns that support the critical institution of local journalism.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Build and implement marketing and go-to-market strategies around dedicated content business lines, driving key business and customer metrics in coordination with the Marketing team, including Growth, Retention, Social, and PR.
  • Contribute to overarching brand strategy, visual identity and tone of voice, and ensure their consistency across campaigns and communications.
  • Develop strong integrated marketing plans across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Lead conversations with external creative/media agencies and internal teams to ensure brand strategy drives integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Drive end-to-end campaign orchestration, establish brand and media strategies, brief creative teams, traffic assets, and ensure measurement and reporting are in place.
  • Partner with enterprise data teams to socialize campaign strategy, results, and learnings in presentations to key stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Identify and leverage trends and insights to inform relevant and memorable creative strategies.

What You Bring:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a brand marketing function at a publisher/brand or as a brand strategist in a brand/creative agency.
  • Proven success in driving brand strategy and managing breakthrough consumer campaigns.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills and the ability to use insights and data to guide business decisions.
  • Excellent project management skills and experience managing complex, collaborative projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders from creative, editorial/content, product, sales, and growth marketing teams.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience conveying ideas to consumers and large cross-functional teams.
  • A keen understanding of brand marketing trends and culture, and innovative ways brands can create meaningful connections with consumers.
  • Hands-on experience and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $80,000 and $100,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
