NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) is seeking a Sales Associate at NAVSTA Norfolk, VA to deliver exceptional customer service, assist customers with product selections, and support ongoing promotions. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, basic math, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

The position is full-time (35+ hours) in Norfolk, with the store expected to maintain inventory accuracy and provide trustworthy cash handling.

Qualifications

Provides customer service and helps customers find products and understand promotions.
Must be able to learn products and articulate the company mission in a professional way.
Retail experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Proactively engage customers and build connections.
Ask questions and listen to customer needs.
Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about events and promotions (STAR card).
Provide premier customer service and maintain store appearance.
Cross-sell and upsell; know store layout and current promotions.
Process transactions using POS system and handle cash/credit card payments.
Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliations.
Be keeper of merchandise and participate in inventory processes.
