Job summary

Washington County Free Library in Maryland seeks a highly organized librarian to lead the Branch Library Services Department across Fletcher Branch and other WCFL locations. The role requires strong administrative skills, staff supervision, and a commitment to public service.

Responsibilities include department budgeting, program coordination, onboarding staff, and regular travel to branches to support services and collections.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Experience supervising library staff and managing projects/teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel within Washington County and to other branches.

Responsibilities

• Administer and supervise the Branch Library Services Department and coverage at multiple locations.
• Formulate goals and oversee implementation and budgeting for the department.
• Provide onboarding training for new Branch Library Services staff.
• Coordinate programming across branches in line with the Strategic Plan and Director guidance.
• Travel to branch libraries throughout Washington County as needed.
