Job summary

Washington County Free Library seeks a collaborative librarian to support the Head of Information Services, focusing on adults. The role encompasses reader’s advisory, technology help, programming, and supervisory duties across the Fletcher Branch.

The position requires a Master’s in Library and Information Science, supervisory experience, and a commitment to strong customer service with a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Experience in professional library work with supervisory/management responsibilities.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate Information Services operations.

Responsibilities

• Create and update weekly staff and public desk schedules.
• Coordinate Tech Help appointments and reader’s advisory for adults.
• Oversee department displays and ensure materials are findable in the ILS.
• Coordinate adult programming at Fletcher Branch and assist with fundraising or initiatives.
• Generate and monitor departmental statistics and report monthly to leadership.
