Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a dynamic Business Service Officer (BSO) to oversee Support Professionals and manage service and branch operations in the New York market. The role emphasizes coaching, cross-training, and alignment with Firm policies to deliver exceptional client experiences.

The BSO will collaborate with Market Sales, Risk, and HR to implement service initiatives, supervise staff, and ensure effective delivery of broker-dealer services across the branch network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent education.
• Previous industry experience.
• Active Series 7 (GS), Series 9 and Series 10 (SU), and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA) required.
• Other licenses as required for the role or by management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Branch in executing the organization’s strategic priorities by influencing and coaching behavioral change with a focus on consistency, quality, and compliance with Firm policies and procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Support and Service Professionals.
• Promote cross-training, learning, development and recognition of Service and Support Professionals within the market.
• Facilitate interviewing, selection and onboarding of new hires, including newly recruited Financial Advisors and their Support Professionals.
• Partner with MBSO and Human Resources regarding all aspects of people management, including annual performance reviews, performance management and conflict resolution.
• Maintain strong relationships with key partners within the Branch, Market, Region and Home Office.
