Job summary

The YMCA of NorthWest North Carolina in Kernersville, NC is seeking a part-time Member Services Associate to greet members, assist in various departments, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment during 2–3 evenings per week.

This role requires good customer service, strong communication, and flexibility to work across operations; CPR/First Aid certification or obtain certification within 30 days of hire is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 18 years of age or older
• Customer service experience required
• Computer skills and the ability to learn appropriate computer programs related to the position
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Outgoing personality and a desire to be helpful to others
• Must be able to stand for the majority of shift
• Bilingual is a plus
• DAXKO skills a plus
• Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/Oxygen administration or obtain certification within 30 days of hire
• Other YMCA-required training and certifications, as applicable

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests as they enter/leave the YMCA
• Remain visible and be available to support staff during shift
• Provide Y-Greets for potential members
• Be cross trained and assist in all departments as needed
• Observe the whole facility consistently throughout the shift
• Ensure prompt cleanup of areas requiring attention and report housekeeping issues
• Report maintenance or repair work needs to the Executive Director/Associate Executive Director
• Follow established YMCA policy and guidelines with regard to accidents, injuries or incidents
• Ensure proper response to fire alarms and security breaches
• Serve as the primary responder to facility operation incidents
• Review all incident reports for completeness
• Ensure all doors are properly secured prior to closing
• Consistently check the exterior doors to prevent entry by non-members
• Provide responses to concerns of members
