Richards Building Supply in Poughkeepsie, NY is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support daily operations at our Poughkeepsie location. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will oversee loading/unloading, inventory, and customer service while guiding the team in their absence.

The role requires a certificate or equivalent experience and strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Expect on-site work with occasional travel and active collaboration with vendors and branches

Formación

• One-year certificate from college or technical school or 3–6 months related experience.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business materials and regulations.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to present information to groups of managers, clients, customers.
• Ability to calculate figures and apply basic algebra/geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram or schedule instructions.
• Intermediate PC skills including e-mail, databases, word processing and spreadsheets.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and delegate.
• Light administrative activities.
• Manual dexterity to perform required tasks.
• Travel overnight up to 10%.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Forklift certification or similar proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Comply with safety policies and report unsafe activities.
• Plan, organize and direct loading/unloading of deliveries.
• Design efficient routes to serve customers.
• Support Branch Manager in their absence.
• Assist with planning and managing capital investments.
• Answer inquiries on price and product needs; coordinate with vendors.
• Assist with counter duties and data entry.
• Manage inventory purchases, receiving and cycle counts.
• Assist with AP/AR for the branch.
• Provide back-up to warehouse as needed.
• Contribute to team efforts to meet goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide leadership by example and knowledge sharing.
• Support quality assurance via employee ideas program.
