Job summary

Pelican Credit Union in Hammond, LA, is seeking a Branch Supervisor to support daily branch operations, supervise frontline staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive member service excellence. The role includes auditing cash, loan operations, and developing team performance in a leadership capacity in the Branch Manager’s absence.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in financial services with lending experience, strong sales background, and licensing eligibility for insurance products.

Qualifications

• 3 years of financial institution experience including teller and/or call center duties with 1 year lending or loan processing experience.
• Strong background in sales.
• Eligible to be licensed to sell all necessary insurance products.
• High school education or GED.
• Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills.
• Thorough knowledge of established branch procedures, policies, and practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform cash audits, including teller drawers, vaults, TCR, and ITM/ATM cash loading under dual control.
• Monitoring, ordering, shipping, and balancing all cash for the branch.
• Promoting a strong sales and service culture while coaching staff, setting expectations, tracking performance, and proactively meeting member needs.
• Actively support branch business development efforts through community engagement and relationship building.
• Performing duties of all branch employees as necessary to support branch operations, including taking loan applications, booking loans, and opening new accounts.
• Providing guidance and training for new employees.
