Job summary

BMO Financial Group is hiring for a senior retail banking leader to guide branch sales and service strategy in the Hayward area. You will coach staff, build business plans, and drive customer-centric growth in line with regulatory requirements.

You will foster community relations, manage referrals, and deliver advisory services on banking products while maintaining high standards of risk and operational discipline.

Qualifications

• Typically between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience - preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of retail banking products and services.
• Advanced knowledge of competitive marketplace and trends in product offerings.
• Working knowledge of branch operational processes, policies, technologies, and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes a branch business plan to maximize growth and wallet share.
• Conducts sales calls and establishes a personal referral network to drive new business.
• Probes to understand customer banking and credit card needs and offers strategic advice.
• Develops and maintains a community network to enhance visibility and referrals.
• Leads implementation of new programs and national/regional sales initiatives.
• Monitors performance, analyzes data, and closes gaps with action plans.
• Resolves complex customer issues and escalates when needed.
• Manages branch operating expenses and drives customer retention and acquisition.
