Job summary

Graybar is seeking a Branch Manager in Chattanooga to lead branch performance and growth. You will design programs to maximize net profit, manage budgets, and supervise a large staff while maintaining top-notch customer service and supplier relations.

You will analyze markets, recruit key positions, and develop strategic plans to expand market share across the region, with some travel and a performance‑based incentive structure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in sales, operations, or finance.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of wholesale distribution industry and supply chain management principles.
• Knowledge of the impact pricing decisions have on the profit and loss of the Company.
• Knowledge of various suppliers and their product lines.
• Business planning and market analysis skills.
• SAP and MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) proficient.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Negotiation, conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
• Leadership and ability to supervise staff and achieve results through others.
• Ability to recruit for key positions.
• Ability to mediate customer complaints/disputes.
• Ability to operate at both a tactical and strategic level.
• Ability to motivate and influence others.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement programs to maximize net profit and return on sales.
• Initiate new and improve existing programs to meet or exceed financial metrics.
• Monitor customer service levels and take action to improve service as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels and promote sale of obsolete and overstocked material.
• Oversee preparation of large branch budget and monitor performance to meet objectives.
• Manage a large number of employees and delegate effectively through key positions.
• Monitor compliance with government regulations and policies.
• Develop and maintain business relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Monitor competitive conditions in the territory and adjust strategy to gain market share.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for long-term profitability growth.
