Job description

Valcourt Group is seeking an experienced and results-driven Branch Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Cab Fabrication and Repair Divisions in South Houston. This position is responsible for operational performance, financial results, project execution, business development, customer satisfaction, employee development, and safety compliance across both divisions.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Oversee all day-to-day activities within the Cab Fabrication and Repair Divisions.
  • Establish operational priorities and ensure work is completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Monitor workloads, staffing levels, equipment, and production capacity.
  • Allocate labor, materials, and other resources based on project schedules and business needs.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions and process improvements.
  • Ensure company systems, policies, and standard operating procedures are consistently followed.
Financial Management
  • Manage the profit and loss performance.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets, forecasts, and financial goals.
  • Monitor labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.
  • Review financial reports and key performance indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to improve profitability, gross margins, productivity, and cost control.
  • Approve significant purchases, expenditures, and change orders within established authority levels.
  • Hold project and operational teams accountable for meeting financial expectations.
Sales and Business Development
  • Support the estimating team with project pricing, labor assumptions, cost analysis, and bid strategy.
  • Assist with identifying and securing new projects and service opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, contractors, vendors, and business partners.
  • Participate in customer meetings, project reviews, and business development activities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and grow the Cab Fabrication and Repair Divisions.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, estimates, scopes of work, and contract negotiations as needed.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and retain qualified employees.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to operational, project, fabrication, repair, and field employees.
  • Establish clear goals, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Develop employees through training, cross-functional exposure, and career development opportunities.
  • Address employee relations concerns and resolve personnel issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Project Oversight
  • Review project schedules, budgets, labor plans, material requirements, and operational risks.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to monitor project progress and installation quality.
  • Ensure work is completed according to contract requirements, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Monitor project performance and take corrective action when projects fall behind schedule or exceed budget.
  • Resolve major operational, customer, scheduling, and project-related issues.
  • Review and approve significant change orders, material purchases, and project-related expenditures.
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings, progress reviews, closeout meetings, and lessons-learned discussions.
  • Ensure customers receive timely communication and a high level of service throughout the project lifecycle.
Safety, Quality, and Compliance
  • Promote a strong safety culture across both divisions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and customer-specific safety requirements.
  • Partner with safety leadership to address hazards, incidents, corrective actions, and employee training.
  • Ensure employees use proper tools, equipment, personal protective equipment, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain fabrication, repair, installation, and workmanship quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, company procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular shop, field, and project-site visits to evaluate safety, quality, productivity, and performance.
  • Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Five or more years of operations, branch management, construction management, fabrication, repair, or industrial services experience.
  • Previous experience managing multiple departments, divisions, or operational workstreams preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a profit and loss statement, budgets, labor costs, materials, and gross margins.
  • Strong understanding of project management, scheduling, estimating, cost control, and change-order management.
  • Experience leading fabrication, repair, manufacturing, construction, or field-service teams strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
  • Strong customer relationship management and business development skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project, estimating, financial, or operational management systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites and customer locations as needed.
