Job description

We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead our Cab Fabrication and Repair divisions in Houston. This role is responsible for the overall performance of the branch, including operations, financial results, business development, project execution, employee leadership, customer satisfaction, safety, and compliance.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience managing a P&L, developing teams, controlling costs, supporting sales growth, and overseeing projects from planning through completion.

Key Responsibilities
Branch Operations
  • Oversee all day-to-day activities within the Cab Fabrication and Repair divisions.
  • Establish branch goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Monitor workloads and allocate labor, equipment, and resources appropriately.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Identify and implement improvements to increase operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure consistent communication between fabrication, repair, project management, estimating, sales, and field teams.
  • Manage the full P&L for both divisions.
  • Develop and manage branch budgets, forecasts, and financial goals.
  • Monitor labor, material, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Improve profitability, gross margins, and overall branch performance.
  • Review project financials and address cost or margin concerns.
  • Approve significant purchases, change orders, and operational expenses.
Sales and Business Development
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow branch revenue and market presence.
  • Support the estimating team with pricing strategies and project evaluations.
  • Assist in securing new projects and expanding existing customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, vendors, and business partners.
  • Participate in customer meetings, proposals, and contract discussions.
  • Identify new market and service opportunities.
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and retain branch employees.
  • Establish individual and departmental goals.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Promote accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Address employee relations, performance, and disciplinary matters.
  • Build a positive, high-performing branch culture.
Project Oversight
  • Review project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and operational requirements.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to monitor installation quality and project progress.
  • Ensure projects meet contractual requirements and customer expectations.
  • Resolve significant project challenges, customer concerns, and operational issues.
  • Review and approve large change orders and project-related purchases.
  • Ensure accurate and timely project closeout.
Safety, Quality, and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across shop, office, and field operations.
  • Maintain quality standards for fabrication, repair, and installation services.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, and company procedures.
  • Investigate and address safety, quality, or compliance concerns.
  • Ensure required training, documentation, and reporting are completed.
Qualifications
  • Previous branch, general management, or senior operations leadership experience.
  • Experience within cab fabrication, elevator services, repair, manufacturing, construction, or a related commercial services industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a P&L, budgets, forecasts, and operational costs.
  • Strong understanding of project management, scheduling, labor planning, and cost control.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage employees.
  • Experience supporting sales, estimating, and business development activities.
  • Strong customer relationship and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety practices.
  • Strong financial, analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project or operational management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience overseeing both fabrication and field repair operations.
  • Knowledge of elevator cab fabrication, modernization, installation, and repair services.
  • Experience leading multiple departments or divisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, engineering, operations, or a related field.
